About the Maldives Honeymoon
Four nights on one resort island, which is how the Maldives works — you do not island-hop, you pick somewhere and stay. Transfers from Male are by speedboat or seaplane depending on the resort, and both are arranged for you.
Two of the four days are deliberately empty. The snorkelling, the diving, the sunset cruise and the private dinner are all there if you want them, and none of them are compulsory. Most couples book one or two and spend the rest of the time in the water or doing nothing at all, which is the point.
Day by day
01Arrive Maldives | Velana International Airport and the resort transfer
- Met on arrival at Velana International Airport in Male.
- Transferred to the resort by speedboat or seaplane, depending on which island you are booked on.
- Check in and the rest of the day on the beach.
- Overnight at the resort.
02The island | Lagoon, reef and the first sunset
- Breakfast at the resort.
- The day is yours for the beach, the lagoon and whatever the resort runs.
- Snorkelling, kayaking and diving can be arranged, and are paid for separately.
- Sunset from the water or the sand, whichever the island suits better.
- Overnight at the resort.
03Maldives at your own pace
- Breakfast at the resort.
- A second full day with nothing scheduled.
- Water sports and marine activities can be booked through the resort desk.
- Overnight at the resort.
04A day for the two of you
- Breakfast at the resort.
- The day at leisure.
- A sunset cruise, a dolphin cruise or a couple photography session can be arranged locally.
- A private dinner can usually be set up, subject to what your resort offers.
- Overnight at the resort.
05Departure | Back to Velana International Airport
- Breakfast at the resort.
- Check out and transfer back to Velana International Airport.
- Fly home.
